The Ultimate Tailgater

I saw this the other day as I was exiting the freeway and no I did not take the picture while I was driving, I waited till I got to the light, or does that count as driving?  Anywho, I had to take a picture, cause I don't know about you but I have never seen a BBQ attached to a car before (I thought only trailers and boats hooked on the back of cars?).  Well, good news it is for sale, all you have to do is call the number on the back of the truck, fork over almost $400 bucks and and bring a vehicle with a trailer hitch and you too can be the life of the next tailgate party!  Go TEAM!

An After Dinner Dance!

So after a day of strawberry picking, swimming and wine the night would not be complete without a little dancing, so Mari, Shannon and Caroline and I got out wiggles out and...

Grampy, Cole and Mari got down on the ground for a lil "break dancing" if you could call it that!

After all of the dancing was done it was time for some homemade ice cream and fresh picked strawberries.

My Panties are Sinking!

Yep, I betcha never thought you would read/hear that sentence ever in your life!  Lol, I am still laughing thinking about that situation from yesterday!  Yesterday after spending a few hours out on the farm, we headed home to the parents house house for some swim time, I think this is going to be the theme for many more blog posts this summer, cause we cannot seem to get enough of the pool during the summer.  We spent a few hours lounging in the pool (oh wait that was my sister who was lounging), I was the one doing the swimming/entertaining of the kiddo's. After Auntie Erin everyone was done swimming we got out and dried off and headed out to ride scooters, yep even Auntie Erin on her awesome red razor!  Well, in comes Ryan, Shannon & Caroline for an afternoon visit and swim, so we head back to the pool to "watch" the three of them swim, well Miss Mari is obsessed with her cousin Caroline and she wants to make sure Caroline is having the best time ever swimming, so she is getting her toys and making sure sure is well taken care of.  All of you know how it starts when you have a fully clothed 3year old and there is a pool nearby.  It usually starts off by getting the shoes wet cause there is water, DUH, so you take the shoes off, well in this case Mari stepped into the pool with her shoes on (oops! Auntie Erin was not doing a good job watching her), then the pants get a little wet cause you are getting a little close to the pool or you are crawling around the deck that has a puddle here and there, so you take the pants off  so they don't get soaked cause they are the only pair you have, now you are only wearing your panties and a shirt, so you sit in a puddle in your panties and they are soaked, so then you decide that this 3year old should be wearing the wet bathing suit that was taken off an hour or so ago, so you help the 3year old change on the pool deck after yelling to her Mom to bring out the wet suit, so you are standing on the pool deck changing the kiddo and as you are taking her panties off they get caught on her foot, well in an effort to help you out the 3year old flicks her panties off her foot and they FLY into the pool and you hear her scream "my panties are sinking" and you look down into the pool and sure enough there are her panties at the bottom of the pool, you then pray that there is an extra pair in the bag of crap stuff that came along with the kids that day!  Lol!  I LOVE being and Aunt and not having to worry too much if there is an extra set of panties, cause, well I am just the AUNT and I am not responsible for that stuff, it is one of those moments where you play with the kids, love them all day long and send them back!  :)

We did this all afternoon!

Auntie Erin, you are the BEST!

So much FUN! But wait there is more, stayed tuned!

Strawberry Fields Forever!

What a great Saturday with the Fam, so much fun that this day of fun is going to require at least three posts!  My Mom has been wanting to go strawberry picking for awhile now, however, the Ferguson Clan has quite the social schedule and usually has something going on on the weekends.  Well, we lucked out and they were free for some strawberry picking fun, so we grabbed our cameras and headed to Tanaka Farms in Irvine.

The trip started with a tractor ride through the farm, they would stop periodically and talk about the different fruits and veggies that they were growing and then everyone would get to sample that particular fruit or veggie that was being talked about!  It was awesome, we ate yellow beans, green beans, onions, corn, carrots and of course STRAWBERRIES!  After a few stops our last stop was the strawberry fields, everyone was given a container to fill with as many strawberries that could fit and then you were free to eat as many from the field as you wanted, the best part was that everything was organic so there was no need to worry about any pesticides.  After we were done strawberry picking we had lunch at their tiny little food stand and headed home for some swim time, it was really warm out in the sun and we all needed to cool off in the pool (tomorrow's post)!

All I have to say about this place is "why have we never been here before?", it was so much fun and I highly recommend this sort of inexpensive (thanks Mom for paying) adventure.

Me and my favorite nephew!

Stay tuned to the rest of today's fun!

A crowd pleaser!

On Thursday we had a BBQ at work to help raise money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  Our public works contractor PV Maintenance sponsored the BBQ by bringing the "main dish" (hot dogs, hamburgers and carne asada) and city staff brought all of the side dishes, I decided to bring a pasta salad and boy was it a hit, it was gone by the end of the BBQ!  This pasta salad was so easy to make and it was done in about 15 mins. and all you need is....

Ingredients:
1-bag of pasta

1-2 bottles- Zesty Italian Dressing

1-red onion (diced)

1-red bell pepper (diced)

1-green bell pepper (diced)

Cherry tomatoes (halved) optional

Mozzarella cheese (diced) optional

Directions:

  • Cook pasta per instructions on package.
  • Add veggies and cheese.
  • Pour in 3/4 bottle of dressing and let it marinate overnight in the frig.
  • In the morning pour in the rest of the dressing toss and serve.
  • Enjoy!

How the heck did my shoe get in here?

I know I did not put it in there, looks like lil Miss Trouble Gracie relocated it while I was not looking!  I sure as heck hope she was not planning on chewing it up! :)

Are you ready for some Derby?

On Saturday a friend and I went to go see the OC Roller Girls at the Anaheim Convention Center.  Funny story, while I was visiting my friend Kate up in Salinas we were chatting away and she was telling me that she and her husband had gone to the see the Monterey Bay Derby Dames a few weeks before and how her Mom was freaked out that Kate would join the team.  So last night I sent Kate a text message telling her I was watching the OC Roller Girls and she sent me a text back saying she and Jason were out watching the Monterey Bay Derby Dames!  I thought it was funny, what are the odds that we talked about this crazy sport and ended up going to a match on the same night, but 250 miles apart?  Oh, and I totally understand why her Mom was so freaked out and I don't blame Kate for wanting to join, if I did not have a hip that is held together by a screw, has suffered years of abuse and I have dropped some $$$ into having it fixed again a couple years ago I think I would be lacing up my skates as we speak!  NO MOM, I promise I will not join the team!
