3 years & some good eating!

Hi Everyone!

Today marks a big day for the blog, today is the blogs three year blogversary, wow, three years that is CRAZY!  I am amazed that I have kept this puppy going for so long and it has not turned into a dog/kid blog even though both of those subjects get a shout out every once in awhile this thing is mostly about me and all the crazy stuff I encounter on a regular basis, I have finally come to terms with the fact that I am crazy, and crazy finds crazy therefore life will always be CRAZY!  I cannot believe that I have published almost 500 posts, I know that is not a lot compared to some blogs that I follow that blog everyday, but I am really happy that I have taken the time to document my life on regular basis and look forward to reading it years from now!

And in other news, I my SIL Shannon sent me this picture of my niece Caroline the other day.......

I about died of laughter, cause I bought her that floatie and is appears as if the only way bath time was going to happen was if the floatie came too!  HA!

I have been busy trying to become the culinary goddess that I will never be this week.  On Wednesday I made this AMAZING broccoli cheddar soup, ya it was really good and today I made a corn chowder soup (no bread bowl for me, way too many carbs), again AMAZING.  So now I have a couple more things that taste good leftover and that can easily be thrown into the microwave at work or at home and that are so much better for me that eating out (well maybe not these two dishes, but BOY HOWDY were they good!    Both of these recipes were really easy and the nice part about them is you could totally prep a lot of it ahead of time and cook it when you get home from work.

How I Spent My Monday!

I had such grand ideas of how I was going to spend my day off today; laundry, grocery shopping, walking the dog, cleaning out the car, taking out the garbage, you know, all the fun things in life.  Well, the good news is the laundry got done and well that is about it, cause it is now almost 4pm and I am still in my pj's.

Oh and Gracie and I worked on some training, I taught her the art of relaxation.....

Ha, in my defense I got up, went paddling, came home, showered and have had a headache all day and the weather is changing so my old hip hurts, so it is totally justifiable the pj's at 4pm. :) Oh and there might of been some online shopping completed, so now I am thinking today was a total win, I have been busy!

Remember when you were in school and everyone made Valentine's Day bags to collect all of their cards at the Valentine's Day class party?  Well, at work we all have our bags and we are each handing out sweet treats.  Below is the a picture of the card I made.....

and with a little crafting help they turned out like this.....well if I had finished them, they would look great, maybe I will get them done at work today!

when I discovered a Stand Up Paddleboard and my OC-1 can ride on the top of my car together!  Looks like I will be saving my $$$$ for a new toy!

It looks like it is going to be a wet and rainy weekend so I will have time to work on a few video's from the GoPro, stay tuned! 

Tuesday Tidbits!

It's been a busy week so far and goodness it is only Tuesday, is bad that all day I have been thinking it is Wednesday, ugh?   Here is a little bit of what has been going on.......

Paddling season has officially begun, so I have had been on organizational overdrive in preparation for not being home much for the next few months.  In addition to getting organized I have been really good at planning and cooking all of my meals at home the past couple weeks, it is amazing how little food is wasted when planned correctly,one point for me!

Today is National Pancake Day, I did not participate, but IHOP was giving away free pancakes all day today!  YUM YUM!

Work has been crazy busy as usual, but today was particularly special when the lights in the ballroom would not turn on and we had classes scheduled in there.  We have had two power surges in the last couple weeks and no joke the entire building lurched when it happened, it was actually kind of scary and ever since then we have had major problems and it looks like it completely fried our lighting electrical system, ahhhh!

This is what my hair looks like when I take it down at night after it has been up all day, kind of wild, lol!

The neighbors had a pipe break in their unit sometime last week, I noticed it on Thursday but no one knows for sure how long it has been leaking, since no one has lived there in almost three years.  I reported it to the HOA and they called yesterday saying it was coming from one of my pipes, ahhhhhh!  Well, good news it was not so there was no need to cut a million holes in my walls, woohoo!

This is the neighbors house, you can see all of the water, it looks a lot worse today with buckled floors and mold growing.

Tomorrow I am getting my taxes done for FREE!!!  Yep, that is right for free, it is through the AARP and is for low income people, I am stoked I qualify cause that will save me $85 buckaroo's!

My swim class is going great!  I had a full on nightmare the other night, I dreamt that I could not find my fins in the bucket of fins on the pool deck and I was so mad I did not write my name on them so I could find them.  In my dream I searched and searched and I had no such luck in finding them cause they all looked the same (they were all blue).  When I woke up I was so upset about it for some reason and when I was getting in my car I noticed that my fins were in there and that they are really orange and gray, not blue like in my dream, no wonder I could not find them.

My poor car has needed an oil change forever, the little light is going to start blinking at me soon if I do not take it in, so tomorrow first thing I will be dropping my car off at the dealer RSM (ugh, they are going to charge so much), I hoping I can swing the City employee discount!

And most importantly my brother in law's dad Joe is not doing well, he has had some crazy heart issues earlier today, so if you all could send him good thoughts and prayers we would appreciate that, we hope he gets well soon!

Better late than Never!

The great Christmas card debate, do you send a card or not. I had decided a couple months before Christmas that I was going to send out Christmas cards this year, in years past I had decided in my mind that Christmas cards are only for people with families or grandparents wanting to show off their grandkids to all of their friends, well since it is just Gracie and I, I was like who really wants a picture of me and my dog?  But this year was different, a lot of the people I would of sent my cards to follow this blog of mine so they pretty much know what I am doing all of the time, so I thought it would be cute to gather all of my toys and Gracie and have our picture taken, it was kind of like "this is what we have been doing all year" kind of thing.   I recruited my neighbor friend Melissa to take the picture, I swear she is like Ceasar the Dog Whisperer and got Gracie to look at the camera in every shot.  So the picture was done and then it was time to have it printed, I search the internet high and low for the perfect Christmas card background and I found a few that I liked, but they were so dang expensive and then you add postage and blah blah blah I was going to be out a lot of $$$ so I scratched that plan and was like whatever and back to the whole Christmas card with my dog is lame mentality and that was it.  Well, fast forward to now and I am back to thinking I should of sent out Christmas cards, so I created my own and here it is........

I sure hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

Month of Love!

Ahhhh, the month of LOVE has begun!  I found this on Etsy, not even sure how I stumbled upon it, but I thought it was super cute and all I kept thinking was someone is really selling this, cause this is way to easy to make (I altered it a little bit to fit my tastes) and I can do it for FREE!  I actually emailed this to my friend Kris, she is getting married in a couple months and I thought this might be cute to put in a frame on the guest sign in table, she agreed, not sure if she was being polite or truly likes it, but I made it in her wedding colors and sent it off to her, don't worry she is not using pepto pink in her wedding!
