Heads are going to roll!

OMG!  Seriously, I just dropped $60 bucks last night on a prescription that should of cost $10.  ERRR!  Apparently our insurance at work changed and HR has failed to notify me of the change (shocking).  All I have to say is that heads are going to roll when I get to work today.  Where is the communication, it seriously makes me so mad that I was not notified of this, this is the second time lack of communication has cost me $$$, the last time it was over our 9/80 schedule (I am still pissed about this), if your Friday off falls on a holiday you basically get screwed and you have to use some of your paid time off to get your full 40 hours of pay.  Our HR person sent out an email to all 9/80 staff but failed to add me to the email list and I was blindsided by this, I know I sound like a whiny little baby, but it really is not fair that not all employee's participating in the 9/80 have to do this.  Had I known about this I would of changed the weeks my Friday's were off to avoid the holiday's and said F you all, cause that is how I feel right now.

Now to CVS pharmacy, to give the morons a little credit that work there they called me on Thursday and said something was wrong with my insurance they had on file and to bring my insurance card when I come in, at least that is what I heard, the lady on the phone hardly spoke English and I could barely understand her, you would think that since they basically hold people's lives in their hands they would have people who work there able to communicate with them clearly.  So, I show up with my card and they say, sorry this is old and we cannot accept it so your prescription is $58.99.  Don't even get me started their poor customer service skills, I could go on for days.

Now to the insurance folks, WTF?  Really, my insurance changed?  How about sending me a letter to inform me of that?  Or maybe send me a new insurance card?  If it did change it changed on January 1, again WTF it is January 30 and where is my new card or letter?

All I have to say is I have 7 days to get this all straightened out and to get a refund from CVS, if this problem is not solved I will be billing my employer for $48.99, cause I am NOT paying for this.

Good Day Sunshine!

It is January in Southern California and this is the weather report for today...

I'm not sure it can get much better than this!

So Gracie and I hit the road and headed to the Mission Viejo Lake for a nice morning walk!  This was our view this morning, I keep telling Gracie "when we marry rich, we will live here!"

Have a great weekend everyone!

What in the World?

So, I am driving down the street the other day and I put my hand on my seat belt to adjust it and I feel something crusty on it, so I look down and I see this huge mess on my seat belt that looks like bird poop.  I sit and wonder what the heck it could be because I do not eat in my car and the chances of a bird flying around in my car were slim to none, so it has been determined that it was some delicious white mocha spillage from Starbucks (at least a week old) that is on the seat belt, but the big question is.....how did I manage not to get any on my shirt?  I mean this is a pretty big spill if you ask me!  Lol, oh the life of erin, it is never dull!

That is just gross, or is it more gross that I still have not cleaned it off?

And BINGO was his name-o!

All I have to say is it never gets old working with the public and the public did not let me down today!  Between all the crazy and I mean CRAZY people calling for free income tax appointments, seniors congregating in the lobby discussing their latest traffic violations (seriously, no driving should be allowed after age 75) and the lady who called the city to report that the people she was playing bingo with were not playing right are enough to make me want to laugh out loud all day long!  Seriously, who calls city hall three times (yes, three times) and gets three different departments on the horn (building & safety, city clerk and economic development who transferred her to code enforcement) to complain that bingo was being played incorrectly (she must of been losing) at her retirement home? I mean really, bingo is not that tough to figure out when the caller calls out N-4 or B-8 and how do you cheat?  Talk about a waste of taxpayer $$$. However, I cannot wait to hear how code enforcement reacts when they get her voicemail in the morning.  SMH (shaking my head)!

I can only imagine this is what the crazy old crow looked liked!

Ring Ring!

Dear Mr. Alberto Soto,

I have no idea who you are and why you are running from the law (bill collectors, bounty hunters, ex-wives, etc.), but could you do me a favor and stop giving out my phone number to all those who are after you?

Thank you much,

erin
________

Holy moly, I have been getting phone calls for this yahoo for months now and I am so sick and tired of it that I kind of yelled at the poor lady who called the other day looking for him.   I told her I was going to report her to the police for harassment if she ever called again, the phone has been quiet today.

A few of my favorites!

This past week I have been uploading all of my pictures to snapfish, I have around 8000 pictures on my computer and 90% of them are of the three cutest kiddo's I know!  Last night I spent hours picking 99 of my favorites to purchase from snapfish since they are having a huge sale 99 prints for .99!  Below are a few of my favs, don't worry I did not put all 99 of them on here only 17.

These are just a few, I could seriously put all 8000 on, but that would take forever!

Meteor?

Yesterday, my brother and sister in law were just chillin at home watching TV and all of a sudden their sliding glass door shattered but thankfully did not break into a million pieces, well at least not yet.  Rumor has it that they heard something hit it, but when they went to investigate they could not find anything to cause the break.  So, my brother is chalking it up to it being struck by a meteor (info found on facebook, cause I have not actually talked to him about this and yes, he is kidding) and is calling the landlord to get it fixed.  In the meantime, they have boarded up the window to contain all of the millions of pieces of glass if it does decide to break completely.

Now, that is some crazy stuff!

I picture steal, this came from Shannon's facebook page.

What's with the Sign?

Every time I drive to my parent's house I pass this sign....

Can anyone in Huntington Beach tell me why the sign is backwards?  It has seriously been like this for years.  I don't know about you, but I would be afraid to have any work done on my car there in fear of it being down backwards.  I'm Just Saying!

A whole lot of Nothing!

Well, it is Friday, hallelujah for a three day weekend, got to love paid holiday's!  Not much going on this week that was blog worthy, it was just another week of the same ole same ole in my life.  However, I did realize that my sweet little niece Caroline turned 11 months old this past week, how is that possible?  Crazy how quickly she is growing, pretty soon she will be walking and talking with the other two (Cole & Mari) who won't stop growing either, and since every post needs a picture, I will leave you with this one!

They are Hatching!

The other day I blogged about Starr Ranch and the Barn Owls that had laid six eggs (What a Hoot!), well over the weekend two of the eggs started hatching and chicks were revealed to the world.  It is so amazing to watch the video clips of them hatching and the mama feeding them!

Moving on UP!

This past week my cousins Katie & Darrell (don't worry, he is a cousin by marriage, I don't have cousins who marry cousins) closed escrow on their very first house!!!  I am so excited for them, I know this is something that they have wanted for a long time now and they have it! It is a cute 3 bedroom 2 bath place with a really large family room, office and huge backyard in San Diego.  This house kind of took everyone by surprise as they were not planning on moving until closer to July or August due to their current lease with the apartment that they have been renting, but in just three weeks time they found it, put an offer in, bought it and moved in.  It worked out great with my every other Friday off this week that I could go down to San Diego and help them pack and move.  Friday I went down spent the whole day packing, keeping tabs on Derek and climbing the stairs to their garage with them. We ventured out of the house for meals, a couple trips to the new house, home depot and around town for one thing or another, we all had a great time together and worked well as a team.  Saturday they had a huge group of friends who were kind enough to give up their Saturday morning and help them move!  I was thrilled to have all of these peeps there cause I knew I would not have to move large pieces of awkward furniture up stairs and into a truck, dude, I am getting old and my body hurt BAD Friday night from all of the work we did.  Here are a few pics from the moving weekend.....

A roasting pan and pacifier kept Derek quiet it for few minutes!

Inquiring Minds want to KNOW!

So a few of you have recently asked, some of you are afraid to ask and some of you really don't care to ask, but where ever you stand on this that is ok, cause I am going to tell all, well maybe not tell all but I am going to tell you how it is.  And what is this I going to tell you?  Well, it has to do about the break-up (sniff sniff), dating and where I am at in my life.

The break-up, it was bad, it was ugly, it was sad and it hurt, but it had to happen, there was just way to much going on in my head with this whole Dubai thing that I just could not handle it and I had to remove myself from the situation. As bad as I felt about how the whole break-up went down (and I had the bags under my eyes to prove it), I felt soooo much better the next day, it was like a 200lb. boulder was lifted off my chest and I could breathe again and my life was no longer in someone else's hands to figure out which way it was going to go.  This all may sound super selfish/cold/uncaring/etc., but this is how I felt and I could not go on like that.

Dating.....hmmm, now this part I am unsure of.  I have no idea what I want to do, a HUGE part of me wants to get back out there and continue the search for someone to spend the rest of my life with and have a family, another part of me is not so sure about that and feels kind of guilty and that I should wait until he moves to the other side of the world before jumping back on the dating wagon, part of me wants some alone time to process everything, the crazy part of me wonders if I will find someone else (I know I will) and another part of me is so afraid and just does not want to be hurt again.  I do know that I do not want to do internet dating again anytime soon, so, I have no idea about dating, any advice from my readers?  As you can see I could really use it!

Where I am at in my life, well I can say I am way less stressed, the holiday's were a nice distraction, it would of been nice to have a someone special to spend it with but even if I was with Leo he would of been with his family in St. Louis, so he would not of been around, I have some great friends and family who have been kind of enough to not really bring it up much and let me tag along with them to keep my mind off of things.  I still get a little teary eyed when talking or thinking about it every so often, but in my defense it has only been a month, so all in all, I am doing great, life goes on and I don't have time to sit and dwell on it!  My good friend Gina is trying to play matchmaker again, so if any of you out there have a friend, brother, cousin, coworker, etc. that you think we would make a good match well, you all know where to find me!

What to do?

So I like my boss a lot most days of the week and I like her kids cause they are NOT whinny little brats, but what do you do when one of her kids makes you  a little art project to hang in your office?  I mean, you thank the child for the artwork, you tell them it looks awesome, you hang it up cause the child is standing right there and she is kind of expecting it, you know your boss/the mother of this child knows all about the little art project, so how long is one obligated to hold on to said piece of artwork?  A week, two weeks, a month? I have looked at this thing for almost a week and I am ready to toss it! What does one do?  I am the sole bread winner (Gracie has yet to get a job), I don't want to rock the boat, so how long do I hold onto this thing for?

I know it is cute, but really?

Out with the old & in with the NEW!

Happy New Year Everybody!!! Wow, I cannot believe it is already 2012, where did 2011 go? I guess it is true, time flies when you are having fun! Well, it would only be right to start off 2012 with a recap of all the up's and down's of 2011, so here it goes!

January- Ryan started of the new year with his first job as a Dad, learning how to install Caroline's carseat, my friend Melisa was kind enough to come over on her day off and show Ryan how to make sure it was in correctly.

February- My brother & sister in law Shannon welcomed their first baby Caroline Rose into the world on February 8th she was 7lb. 6oz.and perfect.

March- I bought myself a new toy, a red razor scooter!

April- We celebrated Cole's 6th birthday, wow six year's old, he is such a cool kid! I gave up Starbucks and SURVIVED, it was tough the first week but I got through it! I also went and hung out with my cousins in San Diego, it was great to get away and spend time with them!

May- The parent's hosted a meet the babies party!  My cousins Nathan & Katie both had little boys back in September and October and my brother had Caroline in February so it was must that all of the little ones get together and meet, plus it would make really cute photo's!  Gracie took her first road trip up north to visit our friends Kate, Jason & Charlie in Salinas, Gracie and Charlie got caught kissing in the back seat!

June- Caroline learned to dance and we had a dance party at Grammy & Grampy's.  We also went strawberry picking at Tanaka Farms.

July- I learned how to surf with my friend Gina and I cut off all of my hair!

August- We had our annual Mudry family picnic down in Dana Point and we were lucky enough to have Joe & Anne Ferguson and the Renock/Carbajal family there with us as well. I also met Leo on August 20, we had the best first date EVER and I was really lucky to meet him or should I say he was really lucky to me? And, our little Mari girl gave us a huge scare with a mystery illness and a few days at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

I opened up shop selling my burp cloths at the Rainglen Lane Garage Sale, I sold a few and planned to set up shop in other locations during the summer but that never happened, I am thinking I will try again this year!

We took family photo's this year, I think they turned out great! I really was not digging the idea of the family photo since I would be the only solo one and would kind of stick out like a sore thumb, but I got over that real quick when we all got to the park and it was such a fun day!

September- I celebrated by 33rd birthday, dude I am getting sooooooo old along with my sister (thank goodness she is will always be older!) and Shannon (no fair she will always be younger!) in a joint party with the family!

The parents started the remodel of the house and added on to the dining room and onto my mom's office, what a project but Super Dad was up for the challenge!

Leo and I went to Hollywood and hiked up to the sign, Leo was still a secret at the time so there was no blog post about this.

October- I told my parents about Leo and introduced him to everyone via my blog (no one actually met him, isn't that weird?).  Pulled my first all nighter since college and went to Vegas for the night with Leo and his friends, so much FUN!

November- Ryan, Shannon, Caroline & I went to the Cal State Fullerton pumpkin launch. My Mom created a time capsule to put inside the wall of the house, hopefully someday someone will find it!  I was denied membership to pinterest, we cheered Orange High School on to VICTORY and I bought Gracie & I a little Christmas tree for our patio.

December- This month did not start off great, Leo and I broke up, it was sad and I wish it never happened, but everything happens for a reason and I am thankful for his friendship and the time we were together.
Christmas rolled around at the same time it does every year! My Mom made a fantastic Christmas Eve dinner, we went to church and then the dam broke! My parent's were hosting Christmas Day with approximately 18 people in attendance, well dear old Mom got the stomach flu and was not able to participate in Christmas at all and that meant my sister Kathy and I would have to get dinner on a table. Nothing like learning how to cook a roast by flying by the seat of your pants! Thank goodness for google & the Internet, Christmas dinner was saved and enjoyed by all!

Work was crazy busy with the planning of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita's New Year's Eve Event, but ultimately it was a HUGE success (GO ME!). I worked a 12 hour day on my feet, got home around 10:30pm and was in bed by 11:00pm, so needless to say my inner party like a rockstar did not come out, cause there was no way I was going to stay up till midnight! Lol! Gosh I sound OLD!

This was a quick recap of a lot of the fun we had this year, I hope everyone had a safe and sound New Year's Eve and I wish everyone the best in 2012!
