Fred Hall Fishing Show!
Yesterday the Sheriff took Mr. Pie, Mr. Pies friend who I will call "C" and myself to the Fred Hall Fishing Show in Del Mar (this is becoming an annual thing). MP and C were pretty pumped to spend the day together and it was nice that we could bring a friend along for MP, so many of our activities do not allow for friends to come along so this was extra fun for him. We arrived around 11am and spent the morning dreaming of all of the fun that we could have if we wanted to drop $100,000 on a boat (NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN) and looking at all of the fun trips that are out there to be taken. We watched the Dock Dogs do their thing and the boys tried their hand at fishing, both were very successful. We somehow missed the duck races and I am not sad about that. The duck races require adult participation with the children who are participating and that means I have to participate and I hate holding small creatures, I do not like they way the squirm and I am afraid I am going to accidentally squish them to death. After all of the sightseeing, fishing and boat dreaming was over we took the boys to Dairy Queen and headed home.
C loves hanging out with MP and at one point he asked the Sheriff if it was ok to tell people they were brothers, lol, because of course everyone saw the resemblance. We looked more like a blended family than anything, sorry dude but no one is gonna believe you are brothers, but if that is what you want to tell people go for it!

Kids at Play!
Funny Story: Never in
my life did I think I would be buying one of these…

But the parents live on a cul-de-sac and the kiddo’s love to
ride their bikes and play in the street and the time has come that four of the
six kiddo’s are on wheels and we can no longer keep track of them all at the
same time. So I had mentioned to Super Mom
that we needed a giant green turtle to alert the drivers that there are kids
playing in the street. Everyone agreed
since our trusty orange Home Depot bucket in the middle of the road did not
really scream “slow down, kids at play”.
Afterwards no one really said who would buy the thing, the parents are
always so generous towards the kids that I did not think they needed to
purchase the sign so it was kinda up in the air. Fast forward to yesterday I was lounging on
the couch and I saw my neighbors pull theirs out so I hopped on Amazon and
bought one in under 6 seconds including the quick Craigslist search for a cheaper
one. In the matter of two clicks I now
had a giant green turtle on its way to my house via FREE shipping within the next
couple days. Later yesterday afternoon I
headed to the parents house for dinner and mention to my Mom that I bought one
of those green turtle things and she laughs and says she bought one too. Turns out she logged onto Amazon and bought
one just hours before me. I was going to
cancel my order but before I could I got an email saying my order has been
shipped, doh! We are now the proud
owners of two green turtles and our kiddo’s will be extra safe. You should have seen the eye roll from Super
Dad and the thought going through his head that his garage will never be free
of baby/kid stuff as long as he lives. HA
HA!

Truth!
I think about this often and remember that everything happens for a reason. Wondering why is hard sometimes and wishing to have just one glimpse into a crystal ball would be wonderful but it is not a reality and that giving up the need for control and just letting things happen makes life soooo much easier most of the time, lol!

Warm Weekend and Babies
It was another wonderfully busy weekend and just for record keeping sake, it was 90 degrees out this weekend breaking weather records for March. The Sheriff and I spent most of Saturday paddling, it was seriously so hot out that the beach was the best place to beat the heat. We did some work around his house and finished the day with bbq'ed tri-tip and grilled zucchini. Sunday was another hot day and with the heat not a very motivating day, I went to Pilates in the morning, walked Gracie and rested on the couch until it was time to head over to the parents house for dinner. The last few Sunday's I have been going over there for dinner, the Sheriff works Sunday's so it works out perfect that I can go and spend some quality time with them. Yesterday, Ryan and Shannon along with their three little ladies joined us for dinner, it was so nice to get some snuggle time with the babies and see Caroline.
I love this picture of my Mom, she is so happy when her grandchildren come for a visit and she has been wanting to hold both babies together and yesterday it happened.
Today was the first time my Dad held the babies, I guess he was a little nervous holding them. I am not sure why he was so nervous cause he did great. Madeleine (in the purple pants) was a little fussy and Grampy would rock her and sing to her every time she cried and it calmed her down. Evelyn (pink bib) is still a little smaller than her sister and she fit very nicely in Grampy's other arm.
The babies received these beautiful dresses from my Mom's cousin Judi (Hi Judi!), we cannot wait for the girl's to get bigger so they can wear them.
Both babies were smiling a lot while they were sleeping, I am so glad I caught Evelyn with this big smile, I am pretty sure she was dreaming about her next bottle!
Both babies in their port crib so Lucy could not lick them.
All buckled up and headed home, they are seriously the cutest babies!
Just a reminder, these pictures are not for taking, please do not borrow without permission.

Midweek Randoms
In the words of Mr. Pie, HELLO friend! It is the middle of the week so how about some midweek randoms to get you over the Wednesday hump!
Sometimes I feel like I have 50 million more thoughts running through my head at any given time, sometimes I think it is a blonde time, other times I think it a female thing, but most of the time I think it is just an Erin problem, I mean just writing this post I had to jot some notes down because I could not keep track of all of my thoughts and all I can see floating around my head are a lot of words. Perhaps medication would help with that, but then what would I think about? Such a dilemma!
Poor Gracie is still wearing her Christmas collar, I feel like a bad pet owner because she is still sporting Christmas trees around her neck. The good news is she will not get pinched next Tuesday for not wearing green and she is ready for Christmas if it decides to come early this year.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing but I am BAD BAD BAD, so I try not to sing in public but sometimes I cannot help it and I feel sorry for the ones I love because they have to hear it ALL.OF.THE.TIME. Just the other day I was singing in the car with the Sheriff and when the song was over I looked at him and said that I wish I could sing the lead part and sing the back-up singers part all at the same time, he laughed to be polite but I think he just wanted to stare at me like he would be looking at crazy person.
Neighbors, some are good, so are bad, for the most part I have great neighbors, but one of my neighbors has a total __________boyfriend (you can fill in the blank with any negative word you want and that is him), he is a total thug (no I am not being racist here, I would describe him as that no matter what his skin color might be) and it is making me crazy. My neighbor is really pretty, has got her act together and is a really nice person but picks total losers to date, this guy does not work, he lurks around the neighborhood and Gracie absolutely hates him (you have to trust your dog when it comes to their judge of character). At least three nights a week lately they are outside arguing between the hours of midnight and 2 am. Now, I really do not care what they are arguing about but each and every time this occurs Gracie gets up and starts barking and it is so annoying. Lately I have been feeling that their arguments are getting more and more heated and I am scared for her, so I watch out the window just to make sure he does not hit her. I have decided that the next fight they have that wakes Gracie and I up I am going to call the cops, this way they know someone is watching and perhaps they will keep it inside.
Work is going good, this week is much better than last week which is a welcome relief, I have been busy designing the front, inside and back cover of the brochure, I must post the final product when I am done.
I have survived my first week of paddling season, the workouts were mainly drills up and down the channel with a few five minutes pieces, nothing crazy yet, it is just getting into the routine of things again that make life GO GO GO.
The twins are already a month old, crazy how time is flying by (probably not for their parents, but for their Auntie it is).
Next month the Sheriff and I will have been dating for two point five years, time to start talking about rings and babies again! I kind of gave those topics a break for awhile, just in case anyone was wondering.
And I am really wishing I had some cookie butter ice cream right now, really wishing bad that I had some, maybe tomorrow!!
I think that is it for today, maybe I will be back tomorrow with more!

It Has Started AGAIN!
Paddling season has started, it just seems like yesterday we were paddling to Catalina, so sadly this means I must say goodbye to all of my non-paddling friends and family for now and I will plan on seeing you the third weekend in September when this is all over. Saturday kicked off the season, it was great to be out on the water with all of my paddling peeps along with many new faces I did not recognize, but hope to get to know soon. None of us knew how many women would show up to practice, so in anticipation of more paddlers than seats in the canoes I decided to bring my own canoe, I ended up not needing it but I was glad I brought it just in case. Now that the time has changed (ugh, not a fan of Springing forward), we can start our evening workouts on Monday and Wednesday nights. So, I guess this where I leave you all for a bit, blogging will probably become sparse due to being gone ALL OF THE TIME, but I will try to pop on by to post pics of the cute kiddo's in my life, cause I know for most of my readers paddling stories and pictures do not excite you, but because I can, I will leave you with this beauty, a short car and a long canoe, I must be quite a sight driving down the freeway!
If you need me I can be found at the beach, happy paddling!

Oakley - Remember when they were JERKS?
You may remember few months ago the Sheriff and I went to Oakley to buy some new sunglasses and they were the biggest jerks in the universe and I posted this on Facebook…..

The employees at Oakley are biggest a-holes EVER!! There will never be a next time there, but if there was I would remind them what a-holes they are!

BABIES!
Today the babies are three weeks old, Ryan and Shannon are doing great, Ryan even commented how easy things are, probably because he has an awesome baby mama, but I am just glad they are doing well and the babies are taking it easy on them! I went and visited on Sunday, I wanted to give them some space to get settled in but I was dying to see them and I could not wait any longer. I sat and held the babies for almost two hours, it was the best two hours I have had in a long time, it was so hard not to just sit and stare at them, I could of stayed all night long and just loved them. Caroline was playing the Auntie Erin avoidance game while was there and finally warmed up to me about 15 minutes before I had to leave. So in the spirit of the babies 3 week old birthday, I took 3 million pictures well maybe not 3 million but at least 100 and a few videos. I have trouble posting videos so you all will have to just enjoy the pictures!! Oh and the pictures are not for sharing so please do not steal or borrow my photos without permission (must get better at watermarking them), please and thank you.
