O Christmas Tree!
It is beginning to look like Christmas at my house even though the weather is not reflecting this time of the year. The last few years I have not purchased a Christmas tree due a busy work schedule, the $$$ it costs to buy a tree and of course lil Miss Gracie who is a four legged wrecking machine. Well, I finally broke down and bought a tree this year, I had a store credit to Lowes so the tree only cost me $7.34 and I have decided to keep the tree outside so lil Miss cannot destroy it too much. I also spent the day hanging lights on Gracie's house and my house, I decided not to go crazy with the lights this year. I also dug out some of my Christmas decorations (two things to be exact) that I have scored at after Christmas sales in years past and put them out (we don't want to go too crazy now, lol!) So it is looking a little festive now at Casa de Erin & Gracie!

Wish List #4
I think this is the first year that I have had so many things on my Christmas Wish List, I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing? Well, just in case you are still wondering what to get me, here are a few more items.....

Stumped!
Mr. Pilot-Man will be turning a year older next week, woohoo the big 32 on December 2, to be exact! I am kind of freaking out cause that is less than a week away and I need to get him a gift and I have NO idea what to get him! So....here is where you all come in, I need HELP, I have no idea what to get him for his birthday! I have asked him several times and says "nothing", I cannot just give him "nothing" for his birthday, if he is not careful he just might get a framed picture of Gracie and I (see below). So please please send me all of your ideas, I will also be needing Christmas gift ideas, cause wouldn't you know it but Christmas is right around the corner! AHHHH!, buying gifts should not be this hard.

Black Friday Madness!
I am happy to announce that I survived the Black Friday madness at South Coast Plaza and I came out ahead! I hit Banana Republic, the GAP, J.Crew and Nordstrom's, it was crazy but it was actually a lot of fun. I arrived to the mall around 9:00am and found a parking spot right away (no need to valet today), went to Banana Republic, shopped like crazy, stood in line for about 30 minutes and I made out like a bandit. The GAP was just as crazy as Banana Republic, I got a couple things there and stood in line for about 30 minutes again, then it was off to J.Crew, they were not having any good sales, it was crazy crowded so I left and then I hit Nordstrom's where I got a pair of jeans and some boots, I am not sure if I like them so I am going to try them on later and see how they all work out. Anyways, I am glad it is over, I am home now and I might do a little online shopping later on today from the comfort of my couch!

Blog to Book
I have almost 250 posts to my blog, I am only a few shy of the 250 mark! I have been wanting to create a blog book to have a hard copy record of my blog for awhile now, but it I was not sure how I was going to actually do it, at first I thought about going at it the old fashioned way and actually creating a scrapbook that matched the blog, but I really do not have the time for it and I kind of thought I was duplicating the effort of actually blogging and then making scrapbook, so I scrapped that idea and went looking for another one. I ran across a blog a few months ago, she had mentioned that she had just ordered her blog book, I think she used the website blurb.com but I cannot remember if that is what she used and then the other day I saw a little icon on blogger that was advertising a blog book making site blog 2 print, so I gave it a try and it was oh so simple getting the my blog laid out in the book, however making any edits basically starts you at the beginning again and their website is oh soooooo slow and I am pretty disappointed with the zero font choices (anybody who knows me knows I LOVE fonts) and the front and back cover choices. So after typing this blog post I think it has been determined that I am going to use blurb.com and spend the extra time making it just the way I want it, it just might take me six months but hey, at least it will look good! Gosh this blog is like my own mini therapy session, I swear sometimes just typing it all out solves all of my problems and it does not cost me $100 per hour!

Week Two Challenge Update
Week two has been a lot harder than I thought it would be, I have had a lot on my mind and a lot of time off from work leaving me with a lot of time to dilly dally around and not necessarily stick to my plan. I have found that I really need a strict schedule of work and free time to make the workouts happen otherwise I say I will go and do them but then I never do! We have also had a couple days of rain and I have used that as a great excuse to not go out and do anything. It is kind of funny, as I type this Gracie is staring me down and whining, this is her way of saying get off your blog, get your shoes on and take me for a WALK! Oh and I forgot to mention that I have fallen victim to Starbucks/vacation brain/mode and I have been there a couple times this week. I wish they would go bankrupt and close their doors or a least close the one across the street from my house, however until the stop selling legal crack aka caffeine they are never going to go out of business!! Oh well, today makes the beginning of week three and I am off to a good start so far and I am hoping to make a huge improvement from last week.

I have noticed lately that Pinterest is the latest craze in the blogging world, several of the blogs I stalk follow and a few of my friends have mentioned the great things that they have found on Pinterest, so naturally I was intrigued. A few days ago I thought I should check this out and see what it was all about, so of course you have to sign up for an account to view the site, ok no big deal they just want to know who is using their site and probably will sell my information in the near future, so I create my account and this is what I get...
I am added to the waiting list? What the heck, how do you get added to waiting list for a website? Really? I have to wait for an invitation to join this website, what is it some kind of exclusive club? I was shocked, don't they want as many people to join as possible? I wonder how long I am going to have to wait before I get to be a member of their exclusive club, well, Ben and the Pinterest team, I am no longer interested and you can take me off of your list, thank you very much!

As of today this is what the house looks like, Super Dad has been busy getting things done and it is looking good! Last week the drywall guy came and put up all of the new drywall and this week they will come back to texture the walls and then they will be ready to be painted.

WooHoo!
Yay today is almost FRIDAY!!! It was a busy week at work but a very productive week and I am glad it is just about over. I work a 9/80 schedule so I get every other Friday off which is awesome, but what makes it even more awesome is that my scheduled Friday off's have lately fallen on holidays, so that makes my day off either a Thursday which makes a four day weekend or in the case of next week we have Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving, so I get Wednesday off, yay for a five day weekend, but wait it gets even better, I am taking Monday and Tuesday off, cause who really wants to go to work for two days, ummmmm not me! So my friends, I am off all next week, I have a facial scheduled, a pedicure that is a must, lots of needed Gracie attention time, some date time with Mr. Pilot-Man and maybe some shopping (no, not black Friday, I am not crazy) and to think that when the 9/80 schedule was offered to us I was a bit hesitant due to the fact that I would be away from home at least 11 hours a day, well, that hesitation is gone and I am loving it, oh and a great dog walker makes things a lot better knowing that little Miss Gracie-pants is well taken care of every afternoon while I am hard at work earning money to buy her kibble (very expensive kibble, that is),
I keep telling her to go get a job, but she refuses, that lazy beast!

Just Another Day on the Job!
Just a thought, when you sign your child up for a class and the class is cancelled and you want a refund for the class, it is best not to wait 4 months before requesting a refund and it is probably best to contact the organization in which you originally signed up for the class with. Please do not call one organization and insist on a refund and insist that you signed up for the class with them when you did not. Then do not get all pissy at the person telling you that we do not offer that class and that you do not have an account with us so it is impossible to have given us any money for that class. Then do not ask where you signed up for the class, cause that is like asking me for winning lottery numbers, I DO NOT KNOW!! I am not the person who signed my child up for a class, you were! Oh and using my detective skills I could tell where you signed up for the class based on the address and location of where this class was supposed to be held that was printed on your receipt that you so kindly sent me to tell me I was wrong, but lady on the phone was stupid and did not want to listen/believe me, so I told her I could not help her out anymore if she did not want to take my advice and call this other organization! You can lead the horse to water but you cannot make them drink! Just makes you think wow these people drive, vote
and reproduce!!!
It was just another rewarding day at work, I would love to be sitting at home eating bon bons right now! Anyway, I am done with my rant, thank you for listening!

Week One Challenge Update!
I’m not going to lie but this 30 day challenge thing has been tough! One of my goals was to only eat the food that I brought with me to work, that meant I had to plan my meals (lunch and dinner) and I could not cheat by going to one of the many different restaurants that are within walking distance of my office. Well, lucky for me I only had to work three days last week due to the 9/80 schedule I am on and Veterans Day being on my Friday off so I was off on Thursday as well, score!!! My second goal was to eliminate sweets/junk food from my life, I did pretty well in that department but on Friday I caved and went to Starbucks. I swear Starbucks knows about my 30 day challenge because when I used my Gold Card I earned enough points to get a free drink and I also was the random customer that got the survey receipt, you know where you go online take the survey and you get a free drink, really Starbucks two free drinks in one visit? It’s like the coffee gods want me to fail! I also caved and had some break and bake chocolate chip cookies from Trader Joe’s with Leo on Saturday night, and let me tell you, they were delish! My third goal was to exercise twice a day every day, that one has been pretty easy as I have got back on the workout wagon and have been hitting the gym, walking Gracie and walking during my lunch break, but over the weekend I only got one workout in each day due to Super Mom and I spending Saturday and Sunday clearing out her old office, emptying cabinets in the garage and peeling a wall paper border that should of only taken maybe an hour that ended up taking many hours (seriously, if the house burnt down the walls in the office would still be standing due to the wall paper border holding the walls up, it was that tough). So, so far so good, I had a couple setbacks but nothing major, I am going to keep moving forward and hoping to make this a permanent lifestyle change. Has anyone heard the new Kaiser Permanente commercial? It is so fitting for me right now and for everyone out there who is trying to make changes.

Time Capsule
In the midst of the all of the construction going on at the parents house my Mom thought it might be fun to create a mini time capsule to put inside one of the walls of the house. She thought it would be fun for someone to find this 50 years from now and know a little bit about the first family that lived in this house. Here are a few pictures of what my Mom created and where we put it, tomorrow the drywall guys are coming to install all of the drywall and this little piece of history will be tucked away until someone comes through and takes it down a long time from now!
