Three Things for Today!

Yesterday was my half birthday, so we celebrated my 18.5th birthday with half a cake and half of the birthday song sung to me.  It started off as a joke in the morning but the Super Parents and the Sheriff made happen last night.  Just so you know it really was a cake leftover from Easter with some candles and a half a song, no presents or birthday dinner, we are not completely crazy!

The very first thing I bought for our new house came yesterday, I seriously LOVE this sign and I cannot wait to put it on our new front porch.

And……three more days till this…

4 More Days!

Four more days and we close escrow on our new house and a week from today we will have the keys to our new home!  Wowzers, I cannot believe that is finally happening. We having been living with the parents for the last eleven days and it has been great.  Super Mom has been taking good care of us and we have all settled into a new routine, I think they will definitely miss us when we are gone, lol, probably not!!  We had the final walk through on Friday, it was kind of overwhelming and I was not there mentally/emotionally 100% but the house still looks great.   I still feel totally homeless and if someone asked me to write down my address I would not know what address to put down, I guess we are close enough to start using the new address.   We celebrated Easter yesterday, it was a small gathering of my brother, his fam and my aunt, the Sheriff joined us after a day of fighting crime and fires on the water. I guess there was small boat fire so he got to put his firefighting costume on and put the fire out, woohoo the Sheriff to the rescue.  The babies are completely on the move and do not sit still for anything, just ask my brother how well getting a picture of all three of them went yesterday.  Evelyn is taking a few steps here and there, both babies say a few words (hi, doggie, boo, thank you, mama, dada and of course Auntie Erin!) and they are starting to follow simple commands, they are so cute!  I took a ton of pictures on Super Dads camera so I have none to show here except for this cute little gem.

Moving…

Well it has been determined that moving is a b….. and I do not have any plans to EVER do it again.  We moved out of the Sheriff’s house last Friday and have been living at the Mudry Estate while we are in between homes.  Just a quick recap of a few “fun” things that have occurred since a week ago Tuesday.

1.  Last Tuesday our movers were scheduled to come at 3pm to help pack the POD, they showed up at 8am, I quickly shooed them away and told them to come back at 3pm cause I was not ready for them.  They came back at 5pm, yep seven hours early and two hours late, timing was not their strong suit that day.

2. As they were moving the frig out, in an attempt to shut off the water to the ice maker they broke a valve under the sink and in order to keep it from flooding the kitchen we had to shut the water off to the house until Super Dad came to fix it.

3.  It took Super Dad almost four hours and three trips to Home Depot to fix the broken valve, he was not happy!

4. The Sheriff had the fun task of draining the two large fish tanks.  While he was draining one of them the dogs were busy getting into trouble in the backyard so he went outside to stop their naughty behavior and the bucket he was draining the water into overflowed and spilled all over our wood floors.  I can home to every single towel I had not packed yet air drying in the front yard and a house that smelled like stinky fish tank water.  Thankfully he was able to dry it all up and the floors did not buckle.  Our living room rug was destroyed (oh well) and had to be thrown away.

5. We packed the POD full and realized we had to rent a Uhaul to pack the rest of our junk treasured belongings.  Cha Ching Cha Ching, ya that was expensive. We are now moving the Uhaul every 72 hours so we do not get a ticket and dodging the street sweeper on the first and third Monday's of the month.

All of our junk!

6. The Sheriff was home alone on Friday because I had to work and he oh so kindly packed all of my clothes in the very back of the Uhaul completely out of reach and I only had the clothes on my back and a few misc. items at my parents house.  I had to go buy new clothes, underwear and I am rotating a couple pairs of socks through the line up in order to go to work this week.

7. Super Dad came by to help the Sheriff load the Uhaul and once they realized our crap was not going to fit in there Super Dad drove home, got his truck and came back to get the rest of our stuff.  Super Dad looked like he was headed to Mexico to sell random crap, it was awesome and he is awesome.  We seriously could not of done all of this without him.

8. The Sheriff has been sleeping in the garage because Ebo howls when left alone in his crate.  I feel kind of bad for him.

9. The crib in my old room that I am currently residing in is my temporary dresser.

10.  And best of all we get to go see our new house again on Friday!

EIGHT more days until we close escrow!!

And a few photos of our last few days...

We took a few photos in back and in front of the house.

The last time the Sheriff locks up his house, this picture makes me cry every time I look at it.

Yep, that is Gracie riding shotgun!

And the Sheriff trying to get to some of our stuff, no luck on my getting to my clothes.

A Little House Warming for Us!

We closed escrow on the Sheriff’s on Wednesday, it was a sad day for the Sheriff, but good times are headed our way.  Now that the most stressful part of buying our new house is out of the way the fun part can begin!  SHOPPING! Besides that fact that we spent every single penny we have on this house we are in desperate need of a new couch, bedroom furniture for all of us and general décor for the house.  I have been cruising the internet for ideas and the best bargains and my Mom and I have done a little furniture shopping in person.  A week or so ago my Mom and I went to this cute little store in Los Alamitos and I found a couch that would be perfect for us, a wall unit that would make a great addition to our dining area and a mirror that is way too expensive to have to have it! We grabbed lunch at our favorite Champagne Bakery and shopped Crate and Barrel for a couple hours.  Crate and Barrel was having a small sale so I bought us new plates/bowls, silverware and wine glasses (we are down to two) and browsed their bedroom furniture, couches and patio furniture.  I joked on social media about finding all of our flashlights and scotch tape and if you wanted to buy us a housewarming gift we are well stocked on those two items so no need to buy us anymore.  Here are a few things that I really want so if you are so inclined to spend a ton of your hard earned money on us…

At first I wanted to buy Mr. Pie this line of bedroom furniture but I am thinking of finding something similar in black.

We have two hairy dogs, need I say more?  Umm, no!  We need this Roomba in order to keep up with all of the sweeping I do EVERY.SINGLE.DAY

For the backyard we need new patio furniture, I am thinking something like this from Crate & Barrel would be nice…
I would change out the red chairs, but I love the table and the bench!

I also want these lights for our new backyard..

and we need barstools, so I am thinking these would work well since we have the matching kitchen table.

Yes, I want all of these items, but totally joking about people buying them for us, I am not that greedy or selfish.

Thank You!

Wowsers, thank you all so much for the Facebook love yesterday and today, we are very excited about our new purchase but yet very cautious since any and everything can change in the matter of moments. The last few days have been crazy busy, we had our POD delivered on Saturday morning, Super Dad and my brother came over on Sunday to fix one of our two falling over fences, we spent all day Sunday packing the POD and purging, OMG, I love a good purge, we met with the guy who is going to rebuild the other falling down fence, dealt with the next door neighbor who thinks we had the POD delivered at the wrong time because it takes up our entire driveway and he thinks that the fence guy won't be able to work around it and he is pissed because we will not be home to micro-manage him building the fence, tonight we went to Mr. Pie's basketball awards ceremony, had a notary come by the house so the Sheriff could sign a bunch of papers and we have our termite fumigation this week and will be crashing at my parents house for a few days along with our final walk through on Sunday.  I am also planning on having a moving sale on Sunday, so if you are in the hood and want some of our treasures, come on by!

Fence fixing in progress!

Gracie having a word with the Sheriff making sure he stays on task!

Thank you Super Dad for every.single.thing. you do for us and Super Mom, we cannot wait for some home cooking later this week!

Big News!

I guess it is time to let the cat out of the bag, I have been holding this is in for the last 20-22 days and I cannot hold it in much longer!  I promised myself and Super Mom that I would not say anything for 45 days but dude, it is hard keeping a secret for that long!  So...after an exhausting search the Sheriff and I are proud to announce that we SOLD his house (fingers crossed nothing changes in the next couple of days) and we bought a house 20 days ago (contingency release signed today so that means we have signed away our life and finances)!  We I have been so incredibly busy signing papers, getting our $$$ together, researching homeowners insurance, putting out fires (literally), scheduling house tenting, repairing fences, packing, crying (me), and on and on and on that the blog has remained silent.

This is our new house in 25 days give or take a day or two....

4 bedrooms - 2 baths - 2100 sqft. and a...

POOL!  OMG, the best part of the house!

There is much more to come about this house, I have been documenting the highs and lows of every single day so far, someday I hope to laugh about all of the tears I have shed over the stress of this.
