Yes, last week was Ca-RAZY!

So........it appears as if it has been a week since I last tackled this thing I call the blog, OMG!  Well, my friends, lets just say it has been one heck of a week and I am so super stoked that I lived to tell about it!

Sunday, I took my OC1 out for the first time (Super Dad, came at 7am to make sure I got it on my car ok, DUDE, I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE HIM!), it was fun, but boy do I miss having five other paddlers in the boat helping me out.  It was tough, but I got through it, I "only" flipped over four times, lol, total loser!!

Monday-Wednesday, were pretty much horrible days at work, so much so on Thursday I had to take a mental health day to somewhat maintain my sanity only to wake-up to 3 guys on my patio ready to paint the outside of my house and I had no idea they were coming nor a game plan for little Miss Barky (Gracie), so I quickly got ready and dropped her off at doggie daycare and then went out for some much needed retail therapy, cause you know the money tree out back is blooming, ha, ya right!    I did pick up some Christmas gifts already, I found these for my coworkers at the container store.........

I thought they were super cute and would be perfect for the ladies I work with!

This is what Gracie looked like after I picked her up on Thursday, my favorite kind of dog a tired dog!

Friday, I took my car in for a quick once over since I will be driving to Arizona next week for "Another Dam Race" and I did not want to chance getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere, so for $190 bucks and a new set of brakes the CRV is already to go! OMG, I hear the money tree dying!  I also took the OC1 out again with my friend Meegan, we had a great time, it was a long paddle for me and straight into the wind on the way back, this time I did much better and did not end up swimming in the ocean.  Just for good record keeping it was 88 degrees in Dana Point on October 26, crazy warm weather.

I love this picture, talk about an Endless Summer!  And yes to all of you rule followers, I was totally driving and taking the picture at the same time, it was the only way to get a good one!

Saturday, we had practice, holy moly I got worked, OMG, it was tough, but a great practice.  After practice a few of us went and had breakfast, I am slowly learning all the great places to eat in Dana Point!  After breakfast Jill and I went for a bike ride, casue you know paddling for two hours was not enough.  That night a lot of the DOCC peeps went to a Halloween party, I went as Jose Cuervo, lol!

there were plenty of "finger foods"

And, now here we are on Sunday, the day that I have been looking forward to for a long time......

The first time I have ever been here!

Hello, I am Elder Price!

I got busted by the photo police for taking this picture, seriously this was the best show EVER, I laughed sooooooo hard and loved it, I wish I could go see it again!  Sound track for xmas please!

This is all I can remember, I do know that I purposely blocked some stuff out of my memory or I did not have the energy to recap and just for fun let's keep the mental health day on the down low, cause there is no need for them to know I was not sick on Thursday!  Oh and Super Dad, thanks for secretly fixing my garage door opener, I have been meaning to tell you that all week!!!

Just Another Project/Super Dad!

As mentioned earlier in the week I bought an OC1 this past Monday!  Well looking at the pictures (if you are a loyal reader), ya, umm, yes the boat is really long, so long in fact it does not fit straight into my garage which poses a kinda sorta big problem if I ever wanted to park my car in the garage again and I do.  So.........Super Dad was recruited to come help hang the boat, little did he know he would also be hanging a surfboard, a bike and fixing my front door, HUGE shout out to my Dad for doing all of this!  Anyways, after a trip and I stress a trip to home depot cause we usually end up going back at least two times for pretty much any project we have ever done, so it was a huge success that we only went once. Super Dad got started and lets just say there was a moment about 20 minutes into the project I thought he might throw in the towel, so much so he might of almost slipped and let out a not so nice word or words, but in the end everything was completed, he did a great job and all is well.

A few supplies to get the job done!

The neighbors watching this production going on, I am pretty sure they thought we were CRAZY!
Scratch that, they know I am crazy!

Everything is up and hanging!

I decided to take some detailed pictures for insurance reasons, in the event I need to file a claim I have photo's of all of my worldly possessions toys.

Looks like the bike is just missing E.T.

I think my boat needs this pinned to it!

Anyways, I am taking my boat out tomorrow for the first time, Super Dad is kind of nervous about this, so nervous he offered to drive down to my house and supervise me putting the boat on my car at 7am, he is crazy the BEST DAD EVER!  I think I can handle it, plus I need to learn how to do it myself, so fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow!  BTW, I am shocked, I have posted several pics of my fancy garage and you know what, not one single person has commented on it or maybe they are all talking behind my back or just shaking their heads.

Friend!

I headed back to the conference today and met up with my friend Kelsey for lunch, it was so good to catch up with her.  In college we were really good friends, but things happened and when I moved back home we were not such great friends, we have talked here and there about random stuff and kept informed about each other through Facebook, but it has been 8 years since I saw her last.  I have to say I was really bummed when I left the conference today, I really wish we lived closer to each other, cause I really miss the friendship we had and today felt like everything was so normal.

Kelsey & I

And as if meeting up with her was not enough exCupertino fun, my old boss from Cupertino was in town for a family vacation, so I had dinner with her, for a moment I felt like I was up there, how random that they were both her today for two different reasons!

Just a great day!

What a day!  I just knew today was going to be great!  My day started off with a mad dash out the door, totally normal occurrence everyday, but today I was a little later then normal getting out the door, went to my favorite Starbucks and scored a FREE coffee, hit every green light all the way to Antonio, AMAZING, pulled into work before the bells rang, way to go ME, was chatting it up my boss and ended up going to the NPRA conference in Anaheim, but the day does not stop there.......I knew my friend Kelsey was there, so with the power of social media, I was able to connect with her (ya, saw her for maybe 2 minutes but don't worry, we have lunch plans tomorrow), attended two sessions at the conference and came back with a bunch of ideas, hit the expo with my coworkers Judi and Wendi, went to lunch at Bubba Gumps with some of their pals, headed back to work and then it was off to paddling practice.  Geez, no wonder I am tired!

Yep, just another day at the office, testing out the Zamboni!

Wendi getting in the way of the picture I wanted to take!

You know these code things, ya, well I figured out how to make them today, so easy it is crazy, however, I am super stoked that I can do this!

Tomorrow, I am back at the conference for more learning and then I will be meeting up with a few more of my Cupertino peeps for dinner, I am really excited!

A New Toy!

Yes, yes, yes, I am sure pretty much everyone thinks I have lost my mind, but I am so excited, I have my very own OC1! I would of never thought in a million years that I would ever own one or even be paddling with DOCC, the best part is that I had never really heard of an outrigger canoe until this past February and I blame Kris Brown for all of it, this was all her idea! Lol!  Anyways, the Super Parents came over to help me go pick it up, boy howdy am I glad they came, it was a lot more tricky than I thought it would be and I think Super Dad is a little stressed about how I am going to store the darn thing and how I am going to get on and off my car with ease, frankly I am kind of nervous about that myself, but I will figure it somehow!  Did you hear the big thunk on the ground?  Ahhhh!  It might be in my best interest to call my insurance guy and get a little more coverage in the event that something happens to it.  Anyways, I will be taking her out this weekend, fingers crossed that all goes well!

It is starting to look like REI in there, I love it!

Thanks Mom & Dad for making this happen!

Another weekend wrap-up!

Another weekend has come and gone, not sure why time is flying by so fast but it is and before you know it Christmas will be here, good thing Miss Mari has her list already for Santa!

How cute is this? :)

In other holiday news, things are looking really spooky at the Ferguson's house!

The outside!

The inside! Cole looks so much older in this pic for some reason.

I bought a rack for my new/used OC1, Super Dad put it on for me, more on the OC1 tomorrow!

This is the Thule catalog, it just screams all things fun!

This cutie belongs to my friend Kate, I just cannot get over what a pretty baby she is!

And, yes, I stole all of the pictures from instagram by taking screen shots, any ideas on how to get around this and save the pictures the normal way???

For some odd reason, I don't have much to say today!

Goodnight!

Catching up on the Week.

Well, it has been a busy busy week and sadly it is winding down to an end and Monday will be rolling around here again in the morning (boo)!

I am super excited three friends and I purchased tickets to the Book of Mormon for October 28, at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles, we are going to see the 1pm show and then going to have an early dinner somewhere in LA, it should be fun!  We have nosebleed seats, but we are all on a budget and the good seats were all sold out.

I have been on a semi desperate search for an OC1, Super Dad agreed to finance the purchase of one, so now I just need a return phone call from the guy I called who has one for sale.  I spent a couple hours combing the internet for a decent used one, that is reactively inexpensive and in good condition, ummm, ya no such luck but I will keep searching.

I paddled two days this week and my back feels awesome, I was so scared that my back would hurt forever and I would never be able to paddle again, ya I know ridiculous.  Anyways, HUGE shout out to Scott Neubauer and his amazing Chiropractic/Physical Therapy skills, OMG without him I would probably still be moving like I was 97 and unable to tie my shoes.  If you ever find yourself in extreme no-broken limb pain, I totally recommend going to see Scott, he is AMAZING.   You can find him here at Coastal Health & Fitness.

I am back on my Craigslist high, I sold a floor scraper that I used once, bought it for $25 and sold it for $20, I say that is pretty good.  My neighbors asked me for help today to help them sell a ton of stuff in their garage, OMG, yes I will help, I am hoping to start the selling process next weekend.  Stay tuned for items for sale.

My friend Kris aka snoopsie poopsie (sorry Kris I had to document this for record keeping and a good laugh years from now), bought a Living Social deal to this Pilates/I have no idea what I am getting myself into studio oh about a month ago and we are just know redeeming it starting tomorrow.  It should be a good workout and will kind of change up my exercise routine, because between paddling, work, paddling some more, walking Gracie, riding my bike and sewing class I figured I needed to throw in another activity.  Holy Cow!  If you have not checked out Living Socials website you should, they have daily deals of fun local things to do. www.livingsocial.com

Hope you all had a great weekend and here's to a good week!

A Need not a Want! :)

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the OC, I am talking perfect beach weather, so perfect that I drove myself down to the beach at 8am.  See picture below for proof I am not lying!

See I told you so!  For the record those are kayaks not OC1's, just in case you all were wondering and this is exactly why I vowed to NEVER do housework on the weekends, who wants to be scrubbing a toilet when one could be out here enjoying this? Ummmm, not ME!

Anyways, despite the perfect weather I had plans to meet my paddling peeps down at the beach to try out their OC1's.  It was suggested I try out an OC1 prior to going back to practice due to my minor yet ultra painful back injury, so I did and can you say success?  Holy Mother of all things that float, my back felt great, no pain, no nothing, such a relief.  It was amazing!  I paddled for maybe 40 minutes, no one really wears a watch out there, we kind of pack up when we get hungry or the sun goes down, oh how I love this lifestyle.  So with that said, here is a picture of an OC1........

Umm, Super Dad if you are reading this, call me!  We need to talk financing, cause I think I just might need one of these stat! Super Mom, if you are reading this do not shake your head, instead call Dad and convince him he needs to help me purchase one of these! Oh ya, I do remember it was just my birthday and you did just give me really nice gifts, but I think I NEED this!

Thanks to all my friends who were out there today, I had a great time playing with all of your toys, see you all soon!
