It's Friday, need I say more?

Glad it is Friday and my four day weekend has begun, busy day over here today and I am pooped.  I had big plans for today's blog post but time and logistics got in the way of all I wanted to do for it, so you all will have to settle for this!  As usual Gracie and I hit Starbucks bright and early, we were up before anyone should be up on their day off, but lately I have these panicked dreams that I am late or my alarm clock did not go off and I wake up all in a dither and can't go back to sleep.  So we got up and went to feed our addiction!

Neighbor friend Kris and I got this bright idea that we want to join CrossFit, (yes, we are crazy) so we went to check it out this morning and see if it was something we wanted to sell our souls to. I am not sure if I liked it enough to commit to it, but I like the idea behind it and I could really use to tone up my legs and my middle jiggle and I think this would do the trick, so I will think about it.  A bunch of DOCC gals are doing the CrossFit in San Juan, so I might stop by and see if I like theirs better, plus it would be fun to continue to workout with them.  

SCARY!

Gracie-girl had to go to the Vet today, she needed a couple of shots for her license and Doggie Daycare, so off we went.  Gracie hates the Vet with a passion and practically body slammed herself against the door to get out.  Turns out the poor girl has two ear infections as well, lets just say putting ear drops in her is a B&*%H, so that ought to be fun for the next five days.  Did you know my pooch weighs 74lbs, I was seriously shocked, the last time she was weighed she was at 54lbs.  Holy Cow, she has gained 20lbs. and she does not eat cookie dough like I do to explain the weight gain.  

Super Mom and I went to lunch together, we had our famous cobb salad and split some cheesecake, yes, it was delish!  Sorry, no picture, I remembered after the food was gone.

Today was a sad day in the flip flop world, righty died today!  She was a great shoe, she walked miles and miles and she even survived a Gracie attack where she lost a flower.  She flopped for the last time this morning before giving up and breaking in two, such a sad day, lefty will forever miss her.

After lunch we went to pick-up my new glasses, it is sooooo cool to see things clearly and I am no longer a major driving hazard on the road, such a relief!  I wore them most of the day just to see where and when I would need them the most, well, let's just say I could wear them all day, they make everything so pretty.  However, I think they gave me a headache, guess I need to get used to them.

Well folks, it is 8:55pm and while I am sure you are all out having a good time, I am at home getting ready for bed, yawn, hope you all made it outside to enjoy the Blue Moon tonight!

Thoughts for Thursday!

-Three more practices till we paddle to Catalina, omg!  I am not as nervous about it as I was the other day, man I had a momentary freak out.

-The produce fairy (aka Mom) stopped by my house with a bag full of homegrown tomato’s, boy were they good!  However, I do not recommend eating three of them in one sitting on an empty stomach, I’m Just Saying!

-I am still thinking of more things to add to my birthday wish list, so far I have come up with sewing lessons and maybe something cute from this etsy shop.

-It has been at least ninety freakin three degree’s every day this week in RSM and nothing says cooling off when you leave work at 8pm and is still 85 degrees outside.  One only knows that when you get home it is about that same temp inside my house, let’s just say if there were burglars in AV they would have a field day at my house with all of the open windows and unlocked doors.  Thankfully, I have my K-9 security system that will bark at all hours of the night protecting me from scary intruders, you don’t want to mess with the GRACE, she will bite ya!  BTW, I don’t think burglars read blogs by blonde girls, at least that is what I tell myself, so I am not worried about possible break-ins after I announce my lack of locked up doors on the world wide web! 

Proof it is HOT!

-My name made it into the OC Register today, if only they could get the facts right and not make me sound like an idiot things would be great!

-Did you know that you can mail objects weighing 13oz. or less in the mail without a box?  All you have to do is address it, put a stamp on it and send it.  So if you wanted to mail a friend or a niece/nephew an easter egg  or a beach ball you totally could!   I have a feeling in the near future my mailman or women  might start to hate me! Don't believe me, go here!

                     

-This just pisses me off, seriously people, there is no need for anymore children to drown!  Watch you kids, teach them how to swim, lock doors and put a fence around the pool.  Children drown without a sound! 

-I think I walked through every spider web in AV this morning, errr, its like the spiders spin their webs just waiting for me, I sure as heck hope they don't get me like they did last year.  Dang, 20+ bites and on my way to a staph infection, no bueno! 

-I got a great haircut last week, however no one would no, I have dried my hair once since I got it cut, the rest of the time is has been up, I can't wait for it to cool down so I can use my hair dryer.  

-We are short staffed on Thursdays now that the Rec Leaders have gone back to school, so it is all me tonight after 5:30pm (partay!), they guys thought it was funny to put my name on the work duty sheet for tonight, I did not laugh!  Let's just say the moment Zumba is over, I am kicking them out and going home, gosh I sure hope I remember to lock all of the doors.  

-I got to sleep in this morning and I start work at 10am, one would think with the extra time this morning I would not be late to work, ya, I think I am still going to be a few mins late, oops!

-And.......I am sure looking forward to tomorrow!  It is my Friday off/pay day and I cannot wait!

One Month People, ONE MONTH!

Today marks one month (mark your calendars) to the dreaded day.......my birthday!!  I am getting old people!!!  So in order to cheer me up this is what you can get me for my birthday!  

-Things that sparkle!

-Gift Cards to my favorite stores (Gap, J.Crew, Starbucks, Banana Republic, etc)

-Surfboard or Stand Up Paddleboard (I'm not picky)!

-External hard drive; have you seen all of the pics I take?  I so need this NOW!!

-A new portable air compressor that plugs into my car (mine has died, thankfully the neighbor guy came to the rescue).

-Emergency bike kit with all the roadside essentials, or not, that is if you want to have to come pick me up from the side of the road when my bike gets a flat.

-A steering paddle, gonna need one for next year!

I know, these are all ultra exciting!  Lol, kidding, these are just things I want but have not found the strength to part with my $$$$ to buy, so I thought you all could buy them for me!  :)

BTW, I know this post sounds incredibly shallow, so no need to leave any type of nasty gram, thank you much!

Giddy-Up!

Yesterday was the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo in San Juan Capistrano and let's just say it was AWESOME!  Melisa and I met up with some of my paddling friends for some fun and the cowboys did not disappoint!  This was the first time I have been and I cannot wait till next year, it was such a fun way to spend the afternoon and soooo not a typical sport I would watch, talk about a bunch of crazy testosterone driven bunch of guys who clearly have no fear of losing their life to some crazy animal with large sharp horns coming out of its head.

Oceanside - 9man

This past Saturday DOCC was in Oceanside for another 9man race, OMG was is it fun!  I was on a coed boat with some of my favorite peeps and we did pretty darn good.  The changes went well, no one was left in the water, I did not have scream at anyone to get out of the boat and we had one of our favorite coaches (Rich) with us so all in all I would say it was a huge success.  While out on the water we saw two huge whales swimming along with us and there was a rumored shark sighting which I did not believe until I saw it for my own very eyes in the video below!

Just out of the water, my one and only change, I was tired, but having a great time!  I got maybe a 10 minute break out of the whole 20 mile race!

Today we had our annual family picnic at Baby Beach in Dana Point, it was a perfect day at the beach!  We spent the afternoon kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and having a great time together.  After the beach we headed to Grammy & Grampy's house for swimming and dinner.  Of course our camera's were on overdrive, so here are  25+ pictures of our day, enjoy.

Eyes Done & Hair Did!

So I made it to the eye doctor this morning and shockingly enough I did not leave with a massive headache!  I did however have to confess that it has been almost 4 years since I had the eyes checked, oops.   Anyways, you all will be thrilled to know I am no longer a hazard on the road at night, I will be able to see all street signs and when looking at you across a room you will no longer come in blurry!  Super Mom came with me for moral support and to help me pick out my new set of eyes, I am bummed, I should of had her take pics!  I decided to go all fancy and I got me some Juicy Couture glasses, yep the only time time I will own anything made by Juicy.  It was a tough call cause Kate Spade was in the final top two, but got booted by Juicy.  I really wanted Kate Spade glasses to go with my Kate Spade purse, but it did not happen, HA the one and only time I try to be all trendy.  Anyways below is a pic of the new eyes, they should be ready next week so I will take a real pic with them then.  

I also got a new "do" this afternoon!  It has been over a year since I last got my hair cut and boy howdy did it need it!  I am always nervous getting it cut, always freaked out that I won't like it, but it turned out great and I won't wait an entire year before I go back!

  It is crazy all the different colors of my hair due to it being up all summer long!  Now I just need a lil arm candy in the form of a new boyfriend and I will be set!

2 eyes to 4 eyes and hair!

Today I am going from two eyes to four eyes at 10:00am.  Oh my gosh it is going to be amazing, I am going to be able to see street signs when driving, people at the end of hallways, no more halo's around lights and best of all the blur will be gone!  I have been putting this off for years and I have final bit the bullet and I am going to the eye doctor!  Can I get a way to go erin?  I am hoping to get contacts but if for some reason I cannot then I will have to get glasses, what do you all think about some of the choices I have picked out?  Lol!

After the eye doctor, I am headed off to get my haircut (yep, it has been over a year since my last cut), what do you think about these styles?

Ha, kidding, anyways I will be new person this afternoon with new eyes and a new hairdo!
