The blog post that should be at least 3 posts!

AHHHH, I am so (insert really bad word) pissed right now, I wrote an awesome blog post and stupid blogger froze and I lost it all!  Anyways, moving on....

Ken and I took his son (who will remain nameless and there will be no photos of him in case you were wondering) to the Angels game last Friday night.  The Angels played the Pirates and they got stomped, but whatever we had a great time!  Before the game we had a very mini tailgate party and BBQ, it was a tad bit frustrating because it was really windy so no matter where we put the BBQ the flame kept going out and it took FOREVER to cook our food.  We missed the first inning because we were trying to cook and shove our dinner down as fast as we could, but in the end it was a great time so it did not matter.  Plus Angels Stadium puts on a really good fireworks show every Friday night so we got to enjoy that as well!

Ken got us awesome tickets, they were so close that there was a foul ball that bounced in front of us and over our heads, it was scary and awesome all at the same time.

I thought this Jack in the Box ad was funny so I took a picture of it.

Did you know a churro is $5.25 there?  Holy smokes it better be the best damn churro ever made for $5.25, what a rip off!

On Sunday, Ken and I went down to baby beach to try out a couple OC-1's, I cannot wait for him to buy one so we can paddle together, here he is trying a similar one as mine....

After the beach we took his kiddo to see Monster's University, it was a cute movie, but boy has it been a long time since I have been to a little kid movie, the little girl that sat behind us kept saying "mommy I have to pee pee" and the mom would take her to the bathroom and then after a couple trips the kid said she needed to poop and all I kept thinking was she needed to go HOME!  Lol, oh well, we had fun!

Work kicked my backside again this week!  It actually sucked all week, I swear I could not do one thing right in the eyes of anyone and I almost cried a couple nights this week after leaving there.  There were a couple people who decided it would be super awesome to be complete and utter jerks to me all week long, all I can say is job well done, you jerks and if you are reading this you will recognize "re-prioritize"and know I am talking about you, you piece of shit!  However in the midst of them being jerks I got a handwritten note from our City Manager (who is awesome) thanking me for setting up our City's new Facebook page and working with several departments to make it happen, so that was very nice and it did brighten my day.  We have almost 600 followers which is awesome, I wish I could say that about my blog.

Thanks to Ken, this helped make my day much better yesterday!  He is AWESOME and does not know it!

July is National Parks and Recreation Month!  Take that all the people who laugh when I say I got my degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, we have a whole month recognizing how important recreation is.  We have tons of fun things planned and I am super excited about them!  I think Ken is secretly waiting for July to be over because Parks and Rec Month is all I talk about these days!  You can follow us RIGHT NOW on Facebook or if Facebook is not your thing perhaps Instagram is and you can find us at rsmcommunitycenter of #recreatersm.

I totally failed as a pet parent today, whomp whomp whomp!  I thought I was super awesome to take Gracie to camp today so she could play with her furry friends only to realize when I got there that I forgot that she needed to be boarded for the weekend and I did not make a reservation for her.  Thankfully they took pity on me and they had a room open for her, I just had to go back after work and bring her her food, cause heaven knows that dog will not let you forget to feed her.

So there you have it, I think I have caught all of my faithful readers up on what is going on.  I just paid my car registration, car insurance, homeowners insurance, waste of $$$$ quarterly association dues and my house payment, so it is safe to say there is no need to check back here for awhile cause I will be chilling on my couch and eating top ramen until my next pay day at the end of the month cause I am BROKE!  But on the bright side cause there is always a bright side, I am getting a 3% pay raise on Monday, so maybe that extra $50 will buy me some fun, not!  And, yes I am still bummed I lost my original post, it was soooo much better than this!

I hope you all have a great weekend, we are headed to San Diego tomorrow morning (it should be awesome down there) and hopefully DOCC will clench the title for the ironman season!

Oh and one more thing the parents are babysitting the kiddo's this weekend, so there is a lot of swimming and quality Auntie Erin time in store and hopefully no parasites this time!  Woohoo, I cannot wait to see my favorite kiddo's!

Handball!

Gracie and I have been living life on the edge lately by playing ball on the tennis courts in the morning. It is clearly labeled on the gate "NO PETS ALLOWED", psssh, who follows rules these days, we don't! Anyways as we were playing ball this morning I noticed that there is a handball wall in the tennis courts, how cool is that!  I know a couple 8 year olds who are going to want to come over and play oh and maybe a 34 year old too!

SUMMER is here!

Happy First Day of Summer!!  Forget Christmas, forget Thanksgiving, forget all of those holidays, besides my birthday and the 4th of July, today is my favorite day of the year!   I love SUMMER!  Sunshine, warm weather and the beach, I am so ready for SUMMER!  To celebrate one of the greatest days of the year Ken and I will be cheering on the Angels tonight  at Angels Stadium along with a pre-game tailgate party and some fireworks, woohoo!  Oh and I forgot to mention I am off today and today is payday, now if this dumb cold I acquired this week would just go away today would be the perfect day!

Happy First Day of SUMMER, now go outside and play!

HMMMM?

Work has been a tad bit trying this week and in the last three weeks I have found myself wishing not to be there a whole lot more and today was no exception.   My brother sent me this text message today and I just about fell over laughing, check it out!

This was the picture from the text message.

My favorite quote!

Apparently, I have a thing for canoes!

Thanks for the laugh Ryan, it came at the perfect time in my day!

A Nightmare!

I had a horrible nightmare the other night, telling it still makes me shudder! I dreamt that I walked over to the Starbucks across the street from my house and when I walked in everything was gone except for one machine and some cups.  I looked at the baristas and asked what was going on and they said the coffee shop was closing and they would be gone by tomorrow.  I totally freaked out and I was like, what the heck, what am I going to do, but this is my morning routine, etc.  I was in a complete state of panic and then I woke up!  Whew, that was a close one!  It was seriously a nightmare and I am kinda embarrassed that I had it, but the good news is they are not closing anytime soon, however I might want to rethink my coffee habit.  #firstworldproblems

Then Gracie laid down while we were there and I knew I was dreaming!

A Getaway & Wedding #3

This past weekend I headed up to the Oakland area for wedding #3 of 3, my friend Andy and his main squeeze Krissy got married on Friday!  I am lucky enough to have great friends up there and I was able to stay with my childhood friend Kelly Granger and her little guy Jace.  Kelly and I had a great time catching up, hanging out and playing with Jace, it was so nice to get away for the weekend.

Have ticket will travel!

Preparing to board, I was a little anxious at this point, not sure why but I was.

Whenever I travel and I see a Community Center I have to take a picture! #recreationdork

Kelly has six horses on her property, here are two of them.

Jace playing at the Brentwood Community Center Park, they have a cool splash pad.

The Wedding Program!

I loved this place, I so want to get married at a Winery!

Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Fuller

Andy is a pilot and he loves all things aviation, these little planes told us were we were sitting and what type of meal we requested.

The centerpiece, everything was done perfectly!

After stressing for an hour while sitting in traffic, I get this text message as I walk into the airport.

Who the heck is Irene?  I told the lady my name and even spelled it and she came up with Irene, SMH!

Over an hour late, come on!  I was not thinking about delays when I booked my flight, I needed to pick up Gracie by 5:30pm and this delay made it so we arrived at 5:30pm. DOH!  I had to call Ken and ask him to pick Gracie up for me, AGAIN!  I have never been so reliant on a guy to help me out with my dog as I have been in the last few months and it makes me crazy.  I need to pull my head out of the sand and start being responsible again, she is mine and I need to make sure I am there for her and not others.

I had a great weekend, thanks Kelly for letting me crash at your place and Andy, thank you for the wedding invite, congrats to you and Krissy!

Happy Father's Day DAD!

I am going to start this post off with a BIG shout out to my DAD!   Happy Father's Day DUDE!  I am sooooo lucky to have you as a Dad, you are the bestest ever and I LOVE you sooooo much! Super Dad aka Dude has given us a couple scares this year with several trips to the ER and we are so glad that everything is ok, we need a good 35-40 more years with him.  His day today was kind of overshadowed by the kids and all of the fun they were having in the pool, sorry Dad.  Little Miss Mari has decided swimming is not so bad after all and is a little fish, she spent the afternoon showing us all of her new tricks.  It was so much fun watching all three of them jump into the pool over and over again, OMG, I cannot get over how cute they are.

Happy Father's Day Dad, we LOVE you!

MISH MASH!

Hi Everyone!

Ahhhh, I have so much stuff to do right now I should not be blogging at all, but at last here I am tapping out my 500th post, holla!!!  I am heading out of town tomorrow morning for wedding #3 out of 3 so all you home burglars out there please do not even think about breaking into my house while I am away, please and thank you! I have done absolutely nothing to get ready for this trip as in my suitcase is still packed away in my closet and it is 9:40 pm, Gracie's bag has not been packed, my toe nail polish needs some serious attention and I have just put a load of laundry in the washer of the maybe I will wear these clothes this weekend.  I did however finally rent a car at 1:30 am this morning, so I can check that off my list of things to do.

My sister posted this picture of Cole this past weekend, I cannot believe he is big enough to do this....

I missed last weekends race in Ventura cause I had to work, here is a small glimpse of part of our event....

Did you know July is Parks & Recreation Month?  Well you do now!  We have tons of fun planned at work, I cannot wait to share it with all of you!

I posted this picture on Instagram today.......

We have been dating for almost seven months and yes I just told my family this week!  My brother thinks I work for the CIA cause I can keep good secrets, more about him in the future, for now just a picture.  He and I bought Zac Brown tickets for October 26 at the Rose Bowl, they came in the mail today, I cannot wait!

Update it is 10:20 pm we are now on laundry load #2 and I just realized the one thing that needed to go with that load did not make it in, DOH!  But on a good note, I just remember I have a pair of pants in my car that I can wear tomorrow and they are even clean, score!

My brain is fried, I just might focus on this packing thing tomorrow morning!

Goodnight!

Throwback Thursday (Erin & Elisse)!

I ran across this picture this morning and I thought it most definitely needed to be posted on the blog!  I have a slight memory of taking this picture, but I have so many more memories of us it is hard to keep them straight.  If I remember correctly Elisse spent the night at my house  the night before and we were up bright and early the next morning.  Clearly we both needed side ponytails that day.  Elisse and I spent a lot of time playing together and many of our memories were made right where this picture was taken in our backyard!

What a Doll!

My sister posted this picture on instagram the other day and I just cannot get over how cute it is!  Little Miss Mari has a slight obsession with babies; alive or not she just cannot get enough of them and being the awesome Auntie that I am I may of supplied one or two of them to help feed her addiction.  And, just for the record she probably has just as many stuffed animals, poor Cole, he and Mari share a room!

This picture looks like it could be in a magazine!

Marina Del Rey

Wow folks, can you believe it is already June?  How the heck did that happen?  Life is just flying by way too fast these days!  I have to say that I am secretly happy that today has been cloudy and gray out right until about now cause I needed a good excuse to stay inside and do nothing.  Yesterday, DOCC had a race in Marina Del Rey, the weather was really nice and the water conditions were pretty good for our race.  I raced coed again with another boat full of great people, we placed 7th out of I do not know how many boats in our "open" category, but I do know that there were at least 26 boats in the coed race, so hopefully they will post the race results soon!  My body feels like it took a major beating, I am not sure why, but lets just say it is never a good thing when you wake up at 2am and cannot move.  I feel like I could sit and bitch about how tired, sore and unmovable I am but I did this to myself so I am not gonna complain.  Below is a video clip of a part of my race, my friend Steve Ayers was on one of the chase boats and he got some good footage of my boat, you will hear him yell out my name when my boat appears in the video, it is towards the end of the clip (could my timing be anymore off, bad paddling Erin).  I sure hope you all can see it, I stole it from his Facebook page, so I am not sure what his privacy settings are, I will also post it on my Facebook page in the event to make it more viewable for all of you!
