Thanksgiving 2014

Thanksgiving has come and gone and by the looks of the weather outside Christmas might be near, it is supposed to rain for the first time in what seems like years tomorrow.  My sister hosted Thanksgiving this year, but due to work schedules that Sheriff and Mr. Pie were unable to attend.  The Sheriff felt that we need to celebrate Thanksgiving as a trio and whipped this meal up for us, not a bad scene to walk into after working all day.

A few of my friends and I decided to participate in the Turkey Trot this year.  I do not trot due to a bad hip so we walked the 5k.  It was in the 80's and I dressed for the 60"s so I was super hot by the end.  After the trot we headed to Ricki's for a post race breakfast.

Sue, Melissa and I.

My boss and her friends run the 10k every year in costume, this year they made the paper.  Don't worry , I have purposely cut off their heads, they did not appear in the paper this way.

I did not take any Thanksgiving Feast photos, it was nice and mellow and I did not feel like the paparazzi needed to come out.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone, now it is time to turn on the Christmas Music and go shopping.

What I did not blog about in November!

November was kinda of busy, busy as in paddling season was officially over on November 1, at 2pm and I have been busy watching tv, yes, I am lazy, lazy and proud of it.  So what did we do in November?

November 1st was the annual Dam Race in Parker, AZ, I drove out late Halloween night and Greg, Sheila, Lil, Jeff, Joe and I were this year’s Dam crew.  We decided a costume was in order (I thought I had pictures, I guess not) and we pretty much laughed the whole morning.  The race was a nightmare, the wind was so strong and in our face the whole time that it was not really fun.  After the race they served a really good lunch and I was headed home.  Please remind me that driving from the OC to Parker on a Friday night alone is a BAD idea.  Not sure what I was thinking, but it is dark and lonely out on those roads and if something were to happen help is a long way away.

We celebrated Super Dad’s birthday on November 8th, it was nice, Super Mom made a really good lasagna dinner and of course we brought out the slow motion app as we sang Happy Birthday, we LOVE that app.

They are waiting for Grampy to give them the word so they can start ripping the paper.

On Sunday the Sheriff, Mr. Pie and I finally carved our pumpkin.  The Sheriff worked on Halloween and I was on my way to the Dam race and Mr. Pie was with his mom, so we did not get to go trick or treating together.  Well, there is not a whole lot do with a carved pumpkin so naturally it only made sense to put fire crackers in it and try and blow it up, Mr. Pie was so nervous that we would get in trouble, he kept asking us if we were sure this was a good idea, I being the responsible adult kept saying yes and not to worry (this might backfire someday).   Well, the firecrackers we had were weak and did nothing to the pumpkin so we stuffed a roll of toilet paper in it and doused it with lighter fluid and set it on fire, well that turned out to be kind of lame so we put the fire out and went inside.  Total pumpkin FAIL.

On Veteran’s Day Ryan, Shannon, the Sheriff and I were all off work so we had dinner together at the parents house.  Mr. Pie and Caroline played and played together, it was so cute, they seriously love each other sooooo much.

Tobin James…..need I say more?  My new favorite wine!  I love love love this wine, the Sheriff and I drank a bottle of it last Sunday night (a week ago), it was so nice, we sat and drank our wine and chit chatted about life, it was so nice.

On Friday, the Sheriff got a text from one of the coaches at Mr. Pie's school, you can see for yourself what transpired.  After all of the laughing was over I started to think of the the serious consequences that could of occurred and it was no longer funny.

I went to a baby shower this past Sunday for my paddling friend Jackie, I am so excited for her, she and her husband are having a baby boy after trying for a long long long time to get pregnant.  Jackie is due in January and our club could not be happier for her.  It was so nice to meet up with my gal pals who I have not seen in a few weeks.

The Sheriff and I celebrated two years of dating with a coffee date, Mr. Pie chaperoned.  It was nice, we sat outside, enjoyed our coffee and then it ended abruptly when the Sheriff remembered that Mr. Pie had an orthodontist appointment at 10:15am and it was 10:05am when he remembered.  We said our goodbyes and I went home and finished my coffee with Gracie.

Ryan and Shannon had a doctor’s appointment today, the two chicks are growing, however they still need our prayers big time.

And this now brings us to current day today.

Not sure where the last two years have gone but it has been fun and it has flown by a lightening speed.  99% of the time things have been so easy despite two crazy ever changing work schedules, two households, two dogs, a kiddo and a paddling job team.
Happy two year datingversary to the Sheriff and me, we will be celebrating with a coffee date with our 9 year old chaperon, because of course he does not have school this week and we should NEVER be left alone for a romantic coffee date ;) before I head to work!  And if the Sheriff is reading this just a reminder I like things that sparkle and babies, so maybe in the next two years?  Pretty please!

Two Chicks Update! (22 weeks)

This post is a repost of what Shannon posted of her facebook page today, please keep these sweet little babes in your thoughts
and prayers.

Twin Update: As many of you know, Ryan and I learned in the past few weeks that there are some complications for both of our twin girls. Madeleine (Baby A) is missing an artery in her umbilical cord and her umbilical cord is not implanted in the placenta. Evelyn (Baby B) also has issues with where her cord is implanted; however, it is in the placenta. These complications can affect growth and development for both babies, but the good news is that they are both measuring where they should be for their age (at the time, 20 weeks and are currently at 22 weeks). Due to my increased risk of preterm labor, in addition to the twins' complications, I've been released from work until the babies arrive. The babies will be monitored more closely, and we are praying that they continue to grow as they should. Madeleine and Evelyn will be measured again at the 24 week mark, so all prayers and good thoughts are appreciated! The pictures are a bit outdated, but they are by far the best profiles of both girls. We'll keep you posted...

The San Diego Wild Animal Park (a few weeks ago)

My normal blogging schedule has been severely interrupted due to my new work hours and our busy weekends, here is our trip to the Wild Animal Park a few weeks ago with the three kiddo’s who totally belong in a ZOO.  The morning started off with G & G and their sidekicks C & M meeting the Sheriff, Mr. Pie and I at my house.  Mari wanted to ride with me, so I grabbed her seat and before I could round up the boys they were buckled up and ready to go in G & G’s car, umm, ok, have fun.  Grampy thought it would be a swell idea to feed the wild hyena’s doughnuts before we got on the road, let’s just say he probably regretted that sugary decision about 5 minutes into the ride to San Diego,
Boys= 1 G &  G= 0.

Miss Mari was with the Sheriff and I, I was thinking we scored and got the sweet little girl in our car who would sit, look out the window and daydream of all the fun things to come, wrong, Girlfriend talked the ENTIRE way down there.

We arrived at the zoo, the hyena’s were chomping at the bit to go inside, so this is the best picture I could get of the three of them.

From the moment we arrived they were full speed ahead, the boys ran from one thing to another, Mari was too busy sightseeing that she joined a couple other families and walked off with them several times, it was fun.  We started off the adventure on the safari tram which was awesome, the kids loved it.

Not sure what we are looking at here, but this is a true depiction of Mr. Pie and Cole's relationship, they are great friends.

Our one and only group photo, NO, we did not pay $30ish for it, it is a photo of a photo.

Mr. Pie making fart noises with his armpit, Cole and Mari thought it was hilarious.

There were misters everywhere and it was so nice since it was 90 degrees outside.

Girlfriend loved her ice cream.

Mari was out the minute we hit the road, the boys on the other hand were beating each for about 45 minutes before I lost my mind, yelled at them and took everything from the back seat that was not bolted down so they had nothing to hit each other with and then they fell asleep.
 Ahhh, peace and quiet.

Thanks Grammy and Grampy for a fun day, we all had such a great time.

Around the Web!

So I started a new work schedule this week (11am-9pm) and I am not sure if I am a fan or not.  It was a rough week,  I had a really good routine going for the last two years, I came in at 7am got my work done and I was out by 5pm so that I could hit the beach by 5:30pm for paddling practice.  Once paddling season was over, I would meet up with the Sheriff and Mr. Pie to watch Mr. Pie's Kung Fu practice and have dinner with them. This week I just felt lost, it was almost like a bad hangover at work, I would get up early, walk Gracie, do laundry, see the Sheriff, have coffee, eat breakfast and head out the door by 10:30am, but once I got to work I felt like my ADD kicked in and I was useless.  So what is a girl to do?  Lol, not worry about it I guess, I still got paid and I don't think anyone at work noticed, so I guess it is all good.  Anywho, I thought I would share a few things surfing around the internet that I thought were funny…….

I love the Jimmy Kimmel video's about the parents eating their kids Halloween Candy!

And she is my hero,

Meghan Trainor is all about the Bass and embraces the big booty and let me tell you I have a big booty.
